This whole self-quarantine has definitely tested my patience, but with each week that goes by, I am growing more creative with how I engage with my kids and most importantly my husband. At the beginning of the year, one of our goals for our marriage was to have more date nights.
Working from home with children takes hard work, patience, and organization. So here are my 3 top tips for working from home with a small child and baby
I can’t believe the holidays are right around the corner! We are putting up our Christmas tree this week and I am beyond excited! Christmas is my favorite holidays and I go all out!! With Bryce now 5 months and Aria 6, shopping for Christmas will be even more fun this year!
I have always been a traveler. I knew once Bryce made his debut; he wasn’t going to slow me down, if anything, he would join me! In the last three months, he has been on ten flights!! He boarded his first flight right around 6 weeks, and we have been jet setting ever since. Flying with a baby can be intimidating at first, but it becomes easier the more prepared you are
What a beautiful blessing it is to create life and nourish life. I am currently eight weeks postpartum, and I am excited that this week also marks Black Breastfeeding Week. Black Breastfeeding Week was created because, for over 40 years, there has been a gaping racial disparity in breastfeeding rates. So this week is to help build awareness and get other women of color thinking and speaking about breastfeeding.
I can’t believe it has been two weeks since moving to Atlanta and six weeks since Bryce made his debut. To say I have had a busy past month would be an understatement. But I am glad that the family and I are finally getting settled.
At 11:30 am on July 2nd, I woke up with pain in my stomach. I shook it off as just Braxton hicks, but as the pain increased, I knew something was up. I stood up and walked into the living room where Ernest was playing his video games. I said, "Bae, I think I am having contractions!" He advised me to lay back down and to rest and see how I felt. After I relaxed, I started to count my contractions more closely
I can’t believe we have finally made it to Atlanta. It has been a long time coming. Years of planning and saving, but we are here!
I remember in 2010 when I moved to Baltimore. I had just graduated from the University at Buffalo, and I was eager and ready to start my career with the degree I worked so hard for. I landed an internship in Baltimore at Under Armour, and for someone with a business marketing degree, this was a dream opportunity! I packed up and moved to Baltimore in the summer of 2010 to start my internship and hopefully land a full-time job
Baby Bolden will be here in less than a month and a half, and we are beyond excited! Once we found out we were having a boy, I knew exactly what the theme for our baby shower would be! Since Ernest and I are huge basketball fans, it was only right that we celebrate the newest addition to our Bolden Team with the #BabyBoldenDraftParty.
This time around, I knew I wanted to have a better registry experience with a retailer that had it ALL and would help me with my needs. buy buy BABY is the perfect location for me because they delivered on all of my needs and expectations!
We are coming off of a fantastic family staycation at the Four Seasons, and I am feeling so relaxed and recharged. The Four Seasons Baltimore invited us to spend one night and two days at their beautiful hotel, and we couldn’t be happier with our fantastic stay!
Ahhhh!!! I am so excited to share this wonderful blessing with you all. When I tell you, this new addition is the biggest blessing of my year, it IS. So let me be a little transparent with you all. I have always wanted two kids. When we got pregnant with Aria in 2013,
I am coming off of a great weekend staycation in DC with Airbnb! With the busy holiday season quickly approaching, it was so nice to just get away with Ari, relax in a beautiful space, and enjoy each other. We stayed at a beautiful two bedroom condo right in the heart of City Center DC. The space is modern, with beautiful finishes.
I am coming off of such an epic girl’s trip weekend to the Bayou Classic in New Orleans with my mom and daughter Aria! It was such a fun and much needed trip in partnership with One Time In New Orleans. My girls and I had the opportunity to spend a nice weekend in New Orleans, experiencing the Bayou Classic and of course all of the fun that NOLA offers!
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Allstate Foundation Good Start Young launch event in DC. This was such a great event for the family and I am so glad that we got to be a part of it.
The five love languages is something I became aware of last year, and once I did, it was definitely life changing for my marriage and how I interact with my husband. Knowing your spouse’s love language is major to effectively give them what they need in the relationship.
I got up from my corporate desk with tears welling up in my eyes. I tried to hold them in as I walked swiftly to the bathroom. I pushed open the door and boom, just like that, the tears rushed down my face like I opened up the floodgates. I was so incredibly torn and sad. I walked over to the bathroom sink and looked into the mirror as I cried uncontrollably. “I can’t do this anymore,”
It feels good to get away and relax with no stress about work or other priorities. That is exactly what we did last week at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Baltimore! We had our first family staycation at this beautiful hotel and we loved it. We spent one day and one night relaxing, recharging and spending quality time together.
I cannot believe we are officially ONE MONTH away from back to school!! Aria will officially start Pre-K and I am slightly freaking out!! Literally, "Where is my BABY?!" I remember like it was yesterday when she took her first steps. Now, she will be walking into school and I can't help but get emotional!!
My family means the absolute world to me. I thank God every day that I can wake up to an amazing, faithful and loving husband and a daughter that is full of life, love, and joy. On this Father's Day, I reflect on how important daddy/daughter relationships are.
Yes, we just came back from Walt Disney World- AGAIN! What can I say, we LOVE it here!! Not even two months after our family Disney Cruise vacation, we ventured back to Disney for a press trip with my Disney family!! This time, we got to bring Aria’s best friend Skylar and Skylar’s mom, my friend Lavette! We had the best time exploring Disney together! Aria loved having Skylar with her as they created memories together each day.
The Animal Kingdom is definitely one of our favorite parks. Aria loves to visit the African Safari! This is definitely a must see ride/attraction for the kids! They will love getting up close and personal with some of their favorite animals!
On our second Day at Disney, we had the opportunity to explore Disney Hollywood studios! This is one of my favorite parks because this is where you will spot all of your favorite characters!
In this post, I will be recapping our day at Epcot! Epcot is definitely one of the favorites for adults! We started with dinner at the Living Seas, which was really nice intimate private dinner for the Disney Moms Group! The kids got to gather and watch the fish and sharks swim up close and personal!
We ended the trip by visiting Disney Springs. We had dinner at Honecomin’ (which was AMAZING) and then we took the kids to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
I am so excited for this upcoming Memorial Day weekend!! My family is coming into town from Philadelphia and we will be hosting a cookout at our local park here in Baltimore!
This past week we had a Bolden Family date night compliments of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in DC! It was our first family date night since we saw the Black Panther movie last month. We had such an amazing time at Del Frisco’s! The food and the service was AMAZING!! Of course, I had to have filet mignon.
Aria’s school has implemented remote learning, and we have been doing classwork online. Additionally, I have her working on apps and workbooks that I purchased from Amazon. So in this post, I want to share what resources we are using during this time and why we love them. I also have a favorite app for baby Bryce that we use often.
