Mom of Two Working From Home Schedule and Tips

Being a mom of two is such a blessing, and having the flexibility to work from home is also a blessing. But now that schools are shut down due to the Coronavirus, I have had to step up and become a teacher to Aria, my Kindergartner. I am accustomed to working from home with my 8-month-old son Bryce, and over the last few months, we have developed a pretty on-point schedule that works for us. Now that Aria is home during the day, I had to tweak our schedule so that it works for us all.

Working from home with children takes hard work, patience, and organization. So here are my top three tips:

  • Wake up earlier than the kids and get a head start on the day

  • Develop a set schedule and a routine. Our days have gone by smoother because we know exactly what we are doing for the day.

  • Allow the kids to be independent and play and explore on their own. Set up safe areas where the baby can roll around and play by themselves. This allows you to be able to multi-task and not feel like you have to hold the baby and entertain him/her all day.

  • Get out and get some fresh air. This great for everyone!

Here is our exact daily schedule. It incorporates my Kindergartener and her learning schedule as well as my 8-month-old and his feeding/sleep schedule. This schedule is GOLD for us!! I keep my son Bryce on a strict schedule and it has helped him sleep 12 hours straight every night. I dive into his schedule a little deeper in this blog post HERE.

I hope you all enjoy this special time at home with your little ones, and above all, give yourself the grace to learn and grow through this time.
