The Essential Clothing Items you will need for your newborn at buy buy BABY

Shopping for a baby boy has been really exciting. It is a nice change of pace from looking at pink, purples, tutus and sparkly outfits all of the time. I am really enjoying the mix up! With about 4 weeks to go until Baby Bolden’s arrival, I wanted to make sure I had all of the essentials for him! I was blessed to be able to get a ton of things from our buy buy BABY registry but for the little outfits and other essentials, I visited my local buy buy BABY to pick up everything else I needed.

From what I recall with Aria, newborns do not need a ton of clothes. I remember wasting SO MUCH on buying “newborn” clothes or items that were not a priority. This was so unnecessary because most newborn clothes fit babies from 5-7 pounds. Aria was born 7 pounds, so she outgrew those clothes in a few weeks. This time around, I am only buying clothes that Baby Bolden can wear longer than a week and that are truly essential for the first few months.

To help out all of my new moms so that you grab only the essentials you need, I am sharing some of my top essential clothing items I have purchased for our baby boy at buy buy BABY and why they are necessary!

Onsies!
These are a must, especially for the first few months, the baby will live in them and will probably wear at least 2 a day.

Sleep Sacks
These are great for keeping the baby warm at night and are super easy to do night changing.

 Caps, Mittens, and Socks
Baby Bolden will be born in July, so this isn’t as super crucial, but still definitely a necessity I will be picking up! You want to always keep the baby warm. Mittens will still come in handy to avoid him scratching himself in the first month.

 Swaddling Blankets
Swaddling especially in the first few months is important. You got to think, your baby is use to be scrunched up tight in your belly for 35+ weeks, so when they come out, they are going to want that same feeling. The best way to mimic this when they are sleeping is to swaddle them. I made the mistake of not swaddling Aria and honestly I know I paid for it. She didn’t sleep through the night until about 7 months. Now swaddling may or may not have affected that but I don’t want to take any chances this time. This baby will be swaddled for at least the first 1.5 months!

 Hooded Towles
These are the cutest and I love wrapping the baby in them after bath time. Keeping their head and body warm post-bath is essential. I stocked up on a few of these towels.
