GIRL'S TRIP: GLAMPING

After seeing the movie Girls Trip last week with my girl Blake, I was super excited to spend some time with her on a girl's trip of our own. But this trip did not include a trip to New Orleans or white sand and crystal blue water like my Jamaica Trip. This trip consisted of nature, trees, a cute little cottage and minimal wifi! I ventured to Makanda, Illinois for my first Glamping trip experience to Rocky Comfort Cabins. Now, if you do not know exactly what Glamping is, it is a portmanteau of glamour and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with "traditional" camping. So basically this is my kind of “camping”.

I flew into Chicago to meet Blake and we took a road trip in our new Mazda CX-9 compliments of Drive Shop USA. Let me tell you, I loved  this car. The six plus hour drive was made easy with this SUV. I loved how smooth it rode, the comfortable leather seats and the navigation that displayed in the front window!! Seriously, if I did not just buy a new car, I would have definitely purchased this one! So if you are in the market for a new car, check this one out.

We arrived at the cutest cottage at Rocky Comfort Cabins, and this place was like something from a movie. I loved it! It definitely felt like home with the full kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom. Blake and I was even surprised that it came equipped with cable (200+ channels)! My only gripe is that it didn’t have wifi, which I guess gave me a reason to truly unplug and enjoy the moment!

See, this is literally the only “camping” I could do.

While there, Blake and I put the GLAM into glamping and of course took some nice photos in the field.

The highlight of the trip was definitely our zip lining experience at Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour. I must admit; I was nervous to zip line, especially when they said we would be as high as 100 ft in the air!! But guess what, I did it and did it WELL! I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to do it again. The team at Shawnee Bluff Canopy tour was amazing. I love crossing things off of my bucket list!

While at Rocky Comfort Cabins resort we also visited a nice little winery! With some amazing wine and pizza (my favorite).

I loved that our cottage came with a Jacuzzi. This was the perfect way to unwind.

While on the trip, I partnered with Palmers to keep my skin protected with their coconut formula sunscreen. I love me some Palmers, and this sunscreen is great! I love that it didn’t make me greasy, or feel heavy. I applied this everyday to my entire body before applying my bug spray. Bug spray is an absolute MUST. I probably would have been eaten alive if I didn’t have it.

I really enjoyed myself on this trip. It felt good to unplug, venture out and do something DIFFERENT! I think Glamping is a must for a girl's trip or some alone time with your mate! As much as I love to be on the beach, this was great for me and I loved it!

Thank you Rocky Comfort Cabins and Glamping Hub for having us!
